ATEC Showcase 2011 - Jorge Animation
This is a project that was created for the ATEC Showcase at UT Dallas. This showcase is somewhat new and was spearheaded by Desmond Blair. The purpose of the showcase is to present a screening of student work, so that everyone can come and enjoy and view the progress and talent in side the Arts and Technology program.
For this years showcase a group of us made a really short video featuring Jorge from Halo.
Modeling - Slade Jansa, Nick Shirsty
Rigging - Slade Jansa
Animation - Slade Jansa, Nick Shirsty
Camera Effects - Bryan Martin
Sound Design - Louis Lupin
Programs I used After Effects for the camera FX.

Cauldron Bubbles - Cauldron's Actual Bubbles :)
So I know I have been somewhat MIA for a little while, but I have been working diligently on creating the bubbling cauldron. I tried several different approaches from using Maya particles and making them show up as spheres to be used for the bubbles, but the problems came when I tried to take "animated spheres" into Realflow. I kept getting just a file with no movement, so after searching and searching I finally found someone that had used RealFlow to make the bubbles and the water. Below is the first animation that I have of the bubbles.

Cauldron Bubbles - Cottage TurnTable Render
Here is the render I did ONLY to show the texture all the way around the cottage.
I still am not completely happy with how the displacement is on the rocks and building, so when things settle down on other projects, I am coming back to work this out.
Please put in some feed back, so I can add it to my list of tweaks.
I want to make this a center piece in my portfolio.
Thanks
Bryan

Cauldron Bubbles - Cottage Texturing ...Continued
So I was able to get the displacement map to work correctly so I added an occlusion to the color map to break out the stones a bit more. I did the wall texturing on the cottage and the roof windows.
I will finish this TOMORROW!

Cauldron Bubbles - Cottage Texturing
Today I worked for a little bit on the cottage texturing. I used Mudbox for the chimney and base of the house and used Photoshop for the rest of the textures in the photo. I want to add vines to the side of the chimney to give it more character. And while sitting here watching it render, I think I should add some more moss going on the bottom of the chimney. Does anyone else think so?

Monkey - Cartoon Monkey
So I have been working on this monkey for a T-shirt company. He is going to be posed in certain ways to create 2D graphics for a T-shirt line.
Lower half to be finished soon, 12.5 hours in so far. I think I spent a little to much time on the hands trying to get organic mesh to flow the way I like. The picture below is only to show the mesh layout, the shaping on the hand still needs a little work.
I also plan on rigging and texturing him. He is going to make a great demo piece. I might try and render him in a cartoon shader and make a small animation of him.
Keep checking back, and hope to hear any feedback from you guys.
